On the Raitt Track

By Alexander Tresniowski/Reported by Wendy Cole

How is BONNIE RAITT going to sing about hard luck and
heartbreak now that she's so happy? "You're never without the
memories of being brokenhearted," says Raitt, who paid her dues
with 20 years of road gigging and fast living before recently
settling into a major groove: she copped three Grammys for her
last album, Nick of Time, and capped off a fairy-tale year by
marrying actor Michael O'Keefe in April. Now she has a new
album, Luck of the Draw, and a world tour. But success hasn't
spoiled the suddenly fashionable songstress. "I've learned to
accept what you had to go through in the past to get where you
are right now."
